Not your typical gym and that's a great thing. The trainers care and give you personal attention without breaking your wallet. Check this gym out and you won't be disappointed!

This is the most zen gym in oakland and the staff at OMP is awesome! Just finished a great workout with Luis and ready for the next one.

Fantastic trainers! They certainly know their trade, which made them very good at their job. But their passion and love for what they do is truly inspiring and makes them exceptional coaches. Always a pleasure to spend time at the gym. A caring/fun place to really get excellent results.

AWESOME!! I've been getting into kettlebell exercises over the pandemic. I've read the books, joined the forums, and seen all the videos. Yet still, i felt like i needed professional guidance. My friend and I had 2 private lessons with Mel, she was the BEST! Very clear, patient, observant... so many good things. I'm not from Oakland, but i do travel through. I'll be hitting up Oakland's Most Powerful in the future. 6/5 stars.

OMP has been an amazing experience - I’m totally new to kettlebells and Coach Mel and Coach Luis take your step by step building skills and strength. The vibe is always welcoming and encouraging - I look forward to coming to class! They’ve helped me with mobility, adapting exercises, and making those small tweaks that make a big difference. They are super knowledgeable! Highly recommend!

Coaches Mel and Luis are the absolute best. Their attention to form, focus on building strength for the skills of life, and the sweet and welcoming community they’ve built have been a safe haven for me over the last year. I credit them and their strength training program for supporting me through a relatively low pain pregnancy.

I spent years watching from the sidelines, telling myself "someday I'll join." Well, I'm over a year in now, and I can honestly say Oakland's Most Powerful has exceeded every expectation I had. I came in with a pretty straightforward goal: build some muscle in my 40s and feel stronger. What I got was so much more than that. Through kettlebell training, I've learned that healthy movement isn't just about one goal or one season of life—it's about building joint resiliency and staying ready for whatever life throws at you, whether that's a kid's soccer game, moving furniture, or just feeling confident in your own body. One of the biggest shifts for me has been developing a more holistic approach to training. I've learned that consistency wins over intensity—that doing something positive for my body every day, whether it's focused on strength or mobility, is what actually builds lasting results. It's been liberating to move away from the all-or-nothing mindset. But what really sets OMP apart is the community. Luis and Mel have built something special here—a "school of strength" where people genuinely care about each other's progress. They truly meet you where you are, and that culture of care flows through every class. The more experienced members are always willing to help those just getting started find their footing, and there's this unspoken understanding that we're all in it together. It's not competitive in a cutthroat way; it's supportive in the best possible sense. If you've been thinking about joining, stop waiting. I wish I'd started years ago.

I’ve been going to OMP on and off for over 10 years, and one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back is the people. Coach Mel and Coach Luis are warm, supportive, and deeply invested in their members’ wellness journeys. To be honest, I’m not always consistent with my workouts, but they have never made me feel guilty, ashamed, or judged for falling off or needing to restart. That kind of grace and encouragement is rare and makes a huge difference. The quality of training is excellent as well. Even in group classes, they provide individualized feedback that makes each workout feel personalized. They push you just enough, challenging you without overwhelming you, and they’re knowledgeable when it comes to form, technique, and modifications. Whether you’re new, returning after a break, or more experienced, they meet you exactly where you are. OMP truly fosters a sense of community. The environment is welcoming, supportive, and refreshingly down-to-earth. Everyone feels approachable, and there’s a shared sense that people are there to support one another, not compete. If you’re looking for a gym with expert coaching, thoughtful programming, and a genuinely kind and inclusive community, especially one that understands that fitness journeys aren’t always linear, OMP is a special place.
